Discussion Thread: Prevention Programming
In your video thread, while thinking of your understanding or prevention, develop a Prevention Program (primary or secondary) for one of the following problems: relationship violence, school bullying, homelessness, or anti-racism. Discuss what the Bible tells you about working to help those in the community before a problem becomes a problem. How would a Christian counselor conceptualize prevention? What biblical truths would this be founded upon? Be sure to include in your discussion how the following can be integrated in the response:
• School, rehabilitation, career counselors
• Community Mental Health Centers
• Other Mental Health Treatment facilities (substance abuse programs, residential programs, etc…)
• Churches, local Media and/or other public service organizations
