Summary of strengths:

My greatest strength involves being able conduct cerumen impaction removal independently. Secondly, I can perform EKG lead placement and interpretation effectively without being supervised. I can also provide burn treatment or dressing independently. Lastly, I can perform staple placement and skin adhesive placement indecently. Therefore, an ANP I will apply this clinical skills in providing high-quality primary care to pediatrics and adolescents.

Opportunities for growth:

Enrolling in this course will allow me to advance my knowledge and skills in various weak areas, including fluorescein staining, wood’s light examination, corneal foreign body removal, and nasal packing. Additionally, interacting with my preceptor and other experienced nurses will allows me to enhance my clinical practice skills such as basic microscopy. Encountering with various patients during practicum experience will also improve my knowledge and skills in long-term contraceptive placement. I intend to conduct this procedure independently by the end of the course.

Goal 2: To perform subungual hematoma evacuation based on standardized clinical guidelines. I will achieve this goal by accompanying my preceptor while draining subungual hematomas during the clinical experience and remaining attentive throughout the procedure. This procedure is essential in treating patients presented to the clinic with pain caused by subungual hematomas or subungual hematomas representing over 50% of the nail. By the end of the course I intend to perform this procedure independently.
