During the past decades, information and communication technology (ICT) has offered healthcare professionals with  support in  patient care information. Electronic health records are healthcare technology trends I have observed in my healthcare organization. EHR is a digital chart including all the treatment and medical history of the patient, designed to be accessed by healthcare staff within the organization as well as beyond, for example, general practitioners.   According to Tertulino et al. EHR systems offer storage, management, and exchange of patient data inside and between institutions.  In the past, medical records have been recorded on paper. Potential challenges that might be inherent in the technologies

Wearable devices/ wearable technology are healthcare technology trends I believe to be most promising for impacting healthcare technology in nursing practice.  According to Edward et al. (2021), wearable devices are becoming increasingly popular and this trend demonstrates a substantial uptake of wearable devices by individuals in the community. Such devices can be used in monitoring calorie usage, heart rate, dietary intake, and sleep.  The utilization of wearable devices provides an opportunity for nurses to engage patients who use wearable activity trackers in activities aimed at improving their health awareness and healthy behaviors.
