The selected case study is “Improving Hospital Inpatient Care.” The project followed customer experience reports collected by the National Research Corporation’s Picker Hospital Survey and the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) survey, indicating that patients lack emotional support. The data from these surveys was synonymous with findings from an analysis of complaint data, monthly reports, and US News and World Report. The project aimed to improve the emotional support registered nurses, nurse assistants, and other nursing staff offer to adults in medical and surgical inpatient units.
