Write My Essay For Me

Scenario

Peter came to the clinic for a normal checkup. He wanted to rush to work and was therefore requesting a quick examination. The clinician attending to him upon getting recording the symptoms from the patient such as headaches that do not go away, fatigue, and blurred vision requested blood pressure measurements. The blood pressure was above normal and this prompted the clinician to require lab tests for the client.  He was requested to provide some blood samples and urine samples for further analysis of the contents of the blood to examine what could be causing hypertension. Peter was not ready for the results about potential hypertension and additional lab tests. He argued that he was not used to these long processes and that he always has fast services with other clinicians. He said that he has no hypertension and that no one in his family has history of hypertension. He was becoming rude and was not ready to provide the lab samples arguing that it was a waste of time and that he needed to be examined by another clinician. He also presents with anxiety behavior that makes him more argumentative. There is a need to interrupt the patient and ensure there is a conversation to adequately help him get the right care Interaction Between An Nurse Practitioner And A Client Assignment Paper.

Client’s Challenging Behavior

Attending to an argumentative client can be a challenge to nurse practitioners. This is because, the client is supposed to collaborate with care providers in giving critical health information, building relationships, and collaborating with all other care teams (Tanoubi, 2021). Argumentative patients make it hard for NP to make a swift decisions regarding their cases. This is because they tend to be over-talkative and believe they have the solutions to their health problems. Anxiety makes argumentative patients talk for a long and this makes it hard to build a relationship that enhances better care. At times argumentative clients when not adequately controlled can be impolite and even violent. The interaction of an NP with an argumentative client is a challenge because at times engaging such clients and trying to make them understand may seem disrespectful (Stein et al., 2022)Interaction Between An Nurse Practitioner And A Client Assignment Paper. With such a challenging client an NP should focus on getting his attention even by calling for help from more experienced care providers.

Impacts on Client-Provider Relationship

An argumentative client such as the one in this case negatively affects the client-provider relationship. This is because the client tends to defy or fails to follow instructions from the care providers. This ends up annoying or upsetting the care providers’ to the extent of affecting their abilities to make objective decisions regarding the client’s condition. For instance, when the client refuses to take additional tests as requested this means they may be wrongly diagnosed which may increase their health problems (Tanoubi, 2021)Interaction Between An Nurse Practitioner And A Client Assignment Paper.

Techniques to Enhance Communication

An argumentative client disrupts the assessment and diagnostic process. However, engaging such a patient may lead to an argument that can turn badly and also one that may fail to give the client the right help. It is important to understand that such patients are battling other mental issues such as anxiety unknowingly. The best way to help argumentative clients is to remain calm as they talk, making sure they sense one is listening to them and validating their feelings and emotions (Stein et al., 2022). However, it is important to wisely engage the patients in a discussion by asking compassionate questions, being polite and giving them several alternatives to their condition.
