Assessment Information
Assessment 2 Information
Subject Code: MBA622
Subject Name: Comprehensive Healthcare Strategies
Assessment Title Video Presentation
Assessment Type: Individual video recording with slides
Length: 5 Minutes MAXIMUM
Weighting: 30%
Total Marks: 100
Submission: Online
Due Date: Week 9. This assessment is crucial for understanding the complexities of healthcare management. It allows students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios.

Your task
Individually, you are required to record a 5-minute webinar that explores the impact of a single environmental factor on the current and future strategies and operations of an organization delivering services within the industry segment chosen for Assessment 1. This webinar should be informative and engaging for the target audience. It should also clearly articulate the connection between the chosen environmental factor and the organization’s strategic direction.

NOTE: Assessment 2 builds on the initial analysis undertaken in Assessment 1, and in Assessment 3 you will be developing a 5-year strategic plan based on the findings from Assessment 1 and 2. Therefore, it’s essential to select an environmental factor that provides a solid foundation for future strategic development. Careful consideration should be given to the long-term implications of the chosen factor.

Assessment Description.
Having identified a particular organization from within the nominated industry segment, students will research the possible current and future effects of a single prominent environmental factor on that organization, and plan, script and record a video presentation that explains those possible effects to current members of that organization. This presentation serves as an educational tool for employees. It aims to raise awareness of the environmental factor’s influence on the organization.

Your video presentation should educate the employees on the impact of that factor on the organization and why a strategy to address the factor and its impacts is required. A clear and concise explanation of the rationale behind the proposed strategy is vital. This will help employees understand and support the organization’s response.

Assessment Instructions
Building on the Assessment 1 healthcare sector analysis, students present further analysis on how ONE influencing factor can impact operations and stakeholder groups for their chosen organization (same as Assessment 1) to culminate in a recommended strategic response and the key stakeholder uptake and acceptance thereof. The analysis should be comprehensive and well-supported by evidence. It should also consider the perspectives of various stakeholder groups.

Students present their analysis as a 5-minute pre-recorded webinar aimed at the staff of the chosen organization. The webinar format encourages clear communication and accessibility of information. It also allows for flexibility in viewing times for staff members.

Influencing factor examples include (but are not limited to): Ageing population, Government regulation, Funding, Workforce shortage. These examples provide a starting point for students’ research. Students are encouraged to explore other relevant environmental factors as well.

Assessment Information

The webinar should include the following aspects, both spoken and on your accompanying slides. Ensure your video is on and your camera is positioned to capture your face throughout the whole presentation. Maintaining eye contact with the camera is crucial for engaging the audience. A professional and confident demeanor is also important.

• Title Slide: Webinar title (with chosen organization name included), student name, subject code, etc.
• Overview: A brief overview of the chosen influencing factor and its current and future impacts on the chosen organization, providing adequate context for the target audience. This overview should be concise and easy to understand. It should also highlight the significance of the chosen environmental factor.
• Challenges and Opportunities: A discussion on the potential challenges and opportunities the one influencing factor will present to the chosen organization, providing context for the target audience. A balanced perspective is essential, acknowledging both the positive and negative aspects. This will allow for a more informed strategic response.
• Strategic Recommendation: Identify and briefly discuss ONE single recommendation for a strategic response to either a challenge or opportunity identified in the previous section (Note: this recommendation can be used as the foundation for assessment 3). The recommendation should be practical and feasible. It should also align with the organization’s overall mission and values.
• References: Slide to contain your reference list. Leave this slide visible at the end of your presentation for at least 20 seconds so the grader can adequately pause and review it. Proper referencing is crucial for academic integrity. It also allows viewers to further explore the topic.
• Student ID slide: A form of photo identification with your name and photo visible for academic integrity. All other details, such as address, can be blurred out. This ensures that the submitted work is genuinely the student’s own. It also helps maintain the security and privacy of personal information.

You must use at least five (5) different references from credible and up-to-date sources, for example, peer-reviewed journal articles and government sources. These sources must be presented in the video as in-text citations and a reference list. Wikipedia and other ‘popular’ sites are not to be used. The findings presented in this webinar must be accompanied by PowerPoint slides and be based on your adequate research. Thorough research is the foundation of a strong presentation. It ensures that the information presented is accurate and reliable.
