There are several teambuilding concepts introduced and discussed by Edwards and Mathews in their text. In the details of their text, the authors have explained how their Transformation Model can energize women’s ministry for all generations and in multiple settings (Edwards & Matthews, 2019). The first of the three concepts discussed by the authors is effective communication. According to Edwards and Matthews (2019), effective communication is crucial for any team especially in ministry work. Notably, this involves clear and open lines of communication, active listening, and the ability to express ideas and concerns considering that different members of the ministry interact with each other from time to time. Additionally, effective communication enables members to better understand goals, expectations, and roles ultimately leading to improved coordination and synergy. The second concept is trust among members whereby the authors have explained that this is vital element in team building. The authors elaborated that when team members trust each other, they feel safe to share ideas, take risks, and support one another. The third concept is collaboration. Explaining this, the Edwards and Matthews (2019) mentioned that this involves working together towards a common goal, leveraging each team member’s strengths and skills. What’s more, this concept promotes key aspects such as creativity, innovation, and a sense of shared ownership. Needless to say, when team members collaborate effectively, they are able to accomplish goals collectively than they would individually. These three highlighted principles are important for teams to work and failure to adopt any of them or using them inappropriately leads to detrimental outcomes for the team. For example, poor communication leads to conflicts while a general lack of trust among members culminates in toxicity and a dysfunctional work environment.
