There has been much discussion throughout the years over the question of whether leaders are created or born. Leaders, in my opinion, are created, not born. This viewpoint is consistent with the transformational leadership paradigm, which stresses the gradual acquisition of leadership abilities by training, practice, and introspection. First of all, historical data indicates that a large number of well-known leaders acquired their leadership abilities over time rather than being born into it. For example, before becoming President, Abraham Lincoln, who is well-known for his outstanding leadership during the American Civil War, came from a lowly background and experienced many setbacks.
