Write My Essay For MeResilience plays a significant role in trauma therapy. It promotes endurance in the face of adversity and allows people to efficiently exhaust resources in psychological, physical, social, and cultural context to survive (Wheeler, 2020). People with post-traumatic disorder may turn to unhealthy outlets like alcohol and drugs. Some stop taking care of themselves, making new connections and trying new things (Kluwer, 2022). Nonetheless, resilience becomes their survival tool and source of strength. It helps them accept their situation, create healthy coping mechanisms, and overcome issues (Nugent et al., 2018)The Role Of Resilience In Trauma Therapy Discussion.

Resilience is built; it’s not an innate trait. According to (Kluwer, 2022), an individual acquires resilience depending on a combination of his genetics, situation, environment, and personal history. Different traumas at different ages impact our expectations, interpretations, and experiences. As such, one can’t perceive resilience to be a set of skills that must be learnt, rather, its acquisition comes from exposure to very difficult, yet manageable experiences (Kluwer, 2022).
As a PMHNP, I can support patients to access resilience by encouraging them to make some lifestyle changes. I will help and advise them to start being more straight forward and assertive with people (Wheeler, 2020). Importantly, I will advise them to use relaxation tips and focus on things that calm them down when they’re pressured (Nugent et al., 2018). For instance, go for a walk, listen to music, or take a bath. Understandably, I will educate them on the importance of looking after their physical health by getting a good night sleep and making time for friends, family members, and support network (Kluwer, 2022)The Role Of Resilience In Trauma Therapy Discussion.
