Workplace Incivility Scale
In the past year at my organization, I encountered various workplace incivilities as assessed by the Workplace Incivility Scale. These incidents, such as being condescended to, receiving little attention to my opinions, or experiencing rude remarks, were relatively rare, out of the 10 it happened only once or twice a year . These infrequent occurrences emphasize the importance of upholding a culture of respect and civility in the workplace, even when incivility is not a common issue. Such behaviors were sporadic, reinforcing the need to maintain a positive and respectful work environment. (Geiderman., 2022)Civility And Healthy Work Environments Assignment Paper.
Ways of Coping Scale
Effective methods for coping, a,Out of the 25 questions, the scores varied between 2, 4, and 5. This diverse range of scores reflects a balanced approach to coping with incivility. This shows strong faith of the ability within me to tackle problems positively. Effective coping skills are an important resource in ensuring conduciveness at the workplace. Among other measures such as staying concentrated, seeking counsel from others and drawing knowledge from previous experiences is how one can deal with conflict which would lead to a sick free and friendly environment.
Affective Commitment Scale
In response to the affective commitment assessment, the scores varied across the eight statements, with ratings ranging from 1 to 4. Affective commitment, which pertains to emotional attachment and a sense of belonging to the organization, appears to be relatively strong, as indicated by the agreement with statements expressing attachment and personal meaning to the organization (statements 1, 2, 3, and 7)Civility And Healthy Work Environments Assignment Paper. However, there are instances where the responses were on the lower side (statements 4, 5, 6, and 8), suggesting a lesser degree of emotional attachment and belonging. Overall, these results point to a mixed level of affective commitment, with some elements of strong attachment and personal significance while also indicating room for improvement in other aspects of organizational belonging.
Job Satisfaction Survey
Personally, I find myself generally satisfied with my job. I agree with the statement that, generally speaking, I am very satisfied with my job. Additionally, I express contentment with the kind of work I do in this position and agree with the assertion that most people in this job are generally satisfied with their work as well. These responses indicate my high level of job satisfaction and suggest a positive and contented perspective on my current employment.
Turnover Intentions
According to the “Turnover Intentions” survey In my current job, I rarely think about quitting, with such thoughts occurring only once or twice a year. I personally disagree with the statement that leaving my job would be very desirable and also disagree with the idea that it is likely for me to leave my job. These responses reflect my strong commitment to my current position and a low inclination to explore other job options or contemplate leaving my current role.
Based on these observations, a significant transformational shift towards an enhanced culture of respect and civility at work is recommended (Clark ., 2019). Even though workplace incivility is relatively infrequent in my experience, prioritizing a culture of respect ensures that it remains at a minimum level. This cultural shift can be achieved through several strategies:Educating and Training, conducting educational programs and training sessions about acceptable behavior at workplaces. Such programs would define what civility is and how to achieve, making sure all are aware on the essence behind civil exchanges with their colleagues (Di Fabio et al ., 2016)Civility And Healthy Work Environments Assignment Paper.
