Discuss her/his understanding of ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) and the educational philosophy of assessing student academic growth. Also, how are the report card and various academic assessment data used to determine school improvement priorities? Discuss your understanding of your student academic identified area of need based on your data analysis. At this meeting, obtain your principal’s signature on the Principal Approval Form, and include in the appendix of your paper. Questions include:

What is your perception of our school vision implementation?
Are the Every Student Succeed Act (ESSA) data shared, discussed, and analyzed with the faculty?
When and how are academic student assessments conducted in the school/district?
How are these data used in the school improvement process?
How are priorities of student academic needs determined in the school improvement planning process?

Community Member Interview: Explain to your principal that you plan on interviewing a community member. Interview an adult member of the community (e.g., parent, local resident, business owner) to include his/her understanding of the school’s area of need that you are analyzing. Analyze the community’s perception of the school, determine ways to collaborate with the community, involve them in decision making, and assist with identification of resources to support your area of focus. Discuss how the culture of the school supports change. Questions include:
