Communication is key to negotiations. What kind of communication happens with the negotiation can be determined by the culture of the negotiators. Some cultures need all negotiations in writing, this is the normal culture of business. Other cultures want only face0-to-face negotiations that happen in person or over the phone. How informal can the conclusion of the agreement be? Can we shake hands on it? Say yes? Or does it need to be in formal writing? Cultural diversity will also determine the ending of the negotiation, or what is needed to “seal the deal.”
