Week 5 Discussion Post: Your Leadership Profile

The StrengthsFinder assessment is a critical tool for people to learn about their strengths and values. Thus, it often leads to personal and professional growth and development (Dominguez-Salazar & Ward, 2020). From the findings obtained from the completion of the StrengthsFinder evaluation, I learned that some of my skills are being a Philomath, believer, coach, focus expert, and problem solver. Each of these traits form a critical part of my overall profile and provide a comprehensive understanding of my unique sets of skills and my technique of approaching different life facets.

From the assessment, the two main values that surfaced are authenticity and collaboration. The value of authenticity showcases my commitment towards being genuine and true to self. Mainly, this is reflected in my personal and professional associations. Embracing authenticity allows for formation of connections with others and leads to a sense of trust and openness. At the same time, collaboration emphasizes my belief in teamwork and collectivity. I am largely fulfilled when working in a team and I tend to recognize the diverse contributions and perspectives of others.

Among the strengths identified, the most outstanding ones are those of being a coach and a focus expert. As a coach, I can guide and mentor other people. Besides, I can leverage my experience and knowledge to foster personal and professional development. The strength shows my inclination towards supporting other people in acquiring their full potential. Also, the focus expert strength shows my ability to concentrate on a task and remain clear and productive. The strength enhances my efficacy on project management and goal completion with precision.

Lastly, there are two characteristics that I would hope to strengthen going forward. They include adaptability and strategic thinking (Folkman, 2021)Leadership Profile Assessment Discussion Paper. Enhancing adaptability will empower me to navigate change more smoothly, embracing new challenges with resilience and agility (Zhou & Lin, 2016).
