The material underscored the potential for exploitation when safeguards are lacking and emphasized the duty of healthcare providers to maintain strict ethical standards. As a nursing professional, this reflection reinforced the necessity of vigilance and adherence to ethical principles in both patient care and research settings.

Moreover, I developed a deeper appreciation for the nurse practitioner’s role as an advocate. Beyond their clinical responsibilities, nurse practitioners serve as protectors of patient and research participant rights, functioning as both caregivers and ethical leaders.
