From Kraft’s article on women empowering women, the women that I admire are Sarah and Mary. Sarah is considered to be the mother of faith. Sarah had several ordeals that put her faith to the test. That’s kind of how it is with many women. With her reputation for strength and independence, she rises to the position of matriarch among the Jews. Additionally, she gives women great importance because she saved Abraham from being killed by the Pharaoh by claiming she was Abrahams’s sister. She showcased the importance of a good marriage relationship by not accepting to be the wife but a sister, thus saving the life and their marriage. Sarah is a symbol of beauty despite her age. It symbolizes how a beautiful person may be knowledgeable and holy, as well as a benefit to others and to herself, despite the Bible’s teaching that physical attractiveness is temporary. Women should always ensure that their attractiveness does not drift away from God but should use it to glorify God. Sarah portrays the importance of family because, due to her barrenness, she had opted to use Hagar to be fathered by Abraham, who was her maid. Her story to modern women is that God may turn any hopeless circumstance into a positive one. Additionally, she shows that one may always strengthen their relationship with God; it is never too late for God’s time.
